Tour of the interface

A look at the parts of the site and where everything is.

Top bar

It's on every screen and has three areas:

  • Left: the logo (goes back to the home page) and the sections: Home, Editor, Practice, Viewer and School. A number appears next to School when you have pending invitations.
  • Center: the actions of the screen you're on, like the File ▾ menu in practice and the viewer or the practice Settings. In the editor, saving and managing sets is in the side panel.
  • Right: your name and photo, which open the user menu.

Side panel

The editor, practice and the viewer have a panel on the left: the set's spots and subcategories in the editor and the viewer, and the session options in practice.

With the ◀ button on its edge you collapse it to leave more room for the tables, and with ▶ you open it again.

User menu

Clicking your name opens a menu with:

  • My profile: your public page with your practice statistics.
  • Settings: the language, the light or dark theme, the editor's table columns and the default set.
  • Support: your questions and bug reports. It tells you if you have unread replies.
  • Subscribe or Upgrade plan (gold button, to the left of your name): takes you to the plans page. It shows on the Free plan and during the trial (Subscribe) and on the Basic plan (Upgrade plan).
  • Sign out.

At the bottom right you also have the button for the chat with your friends.

Notifications

When the site tells you something (a completed save, an error, a missing action), the notice appears at the top right, just below your name, and closes by itself after a few seconds. The border shows the type: green if everything went well, red if there was an error and the accent color if it's informative.

If you miss one, click the bell next to your profile photo: it keeps the latest notices and its number shows how many you haven't seen. The page's notices (saves, errors) are cleared when you close the tab.

Your account's notifications, like the achievements you unlock, are kept for a week and you see them in the bell from any device you sign in on. When you unlock an achievement an animation with its badge also appears at the top; if you click the notification in the bell, you go to that achievement on your profile.

Using it on your phone

  • The sections and actions of the top bar are gathered in the Menu button.
  • The side panel moves above the content, with a Hide panel / Show panel bar to collapse it.
  • The chat opens from its button in the top bar, next to Menu.

Burn EV can also be installed as an app from your phone's browser (the “Add to Home screen” or “Install app” option).
